This photo was recently posted on Verve's web site. The painting is "Under the Fullness Given" that I completed about 5 months ago. It measures 24" x 48". I actually did another the same size so that the client would have options...she loved them both so the other one hangs on another wall in this room. The room is by Ford Boyd Bailey, Verve owner.

In Memory of Lynne Burgess
Oil on Paper, 2003
I was saddened to learn of the death of a fellow artist today. Lynne was a special person who loved life, and I will always remember her encouraging ways. It was Lynne who taught me about gesso, and most of my paintings are now heavily textured with gesso. Many artists don't share their trade secrets, but Lynne was not that way and for that I am glad and appreciative. The above image is a small painting that she did in 2003..one that she gave to me when I was visiting her in her 5-Points studio. I have two other LB originals in my collection. Lynne will be missed, but not forgotten.

From the Archives #1
I am going to start posting some older paintings that have never been posted on the blog before. This is one of my personal favorites that sold about a year ago to one of the top interior designers in Columbia, SC. I believe she and her husband have a total of 10 of my paintings in their home. Gotta love collectors! The title of this one is "Pond of My Youth".
