I have been selected to participate in the art sale associated with the 10th Annual Elizabeth O'Neill Verner/Governor's Awards for the Arts. The event, sponsored by the SC Arts Foundation, will take place on April 16th at the Columbia Marriott Hotel. The artists that juried in can only submit up to four smaller works, but the exposure should be great. This event is heavily attended by the State's leading business people, many who look to expand or start collections for their corporations. A preview of the art is planned for April 7-11 at the South Carolina Arts Commission in downtown Columbia.

Artist's Profile
Lee Monts is a Christian artist who primarily creates contemporary acrylic paintings on canvas, paper and board. A native of Chapin, South Carolina, his formal education is in geology. He has been a resident of Columbia, South Carolina, since 1987 and is employed full time by the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control. Lee began painting in 2002 and has had no formal art training. He considers his talent to be a gift from God and hopes that his art brings glory to the Lord. The artist was selected as one of six artists for Street Gallery III, a rotating billboard project in 2010 sponsored by the Cultural Council of Richland and Lexington Counties and Lamar Advertizing.
