A new technique I am learning from my fun friend Margarette Mills (also known as Pillow Lady). This is a "pouring". The technique is typically done at the beach in the surf. But, we are improvising and trying a large container filled with sand. The paper is placed in the water and then pulled out of the container with the sand... watercolors are poured onto the paper and manipulated by the artist. The paper is then left to dry. Once dry, the sand is brushed off. Some very cool patterns become evident. Margarette is a pro! I actually see more in the image now than I did before I took the photo. What do you see?

Art of a Different Feather!

These are my newest pillows by my friend Margarette Mills. I love the pillows as the material things they are, but mostly I love them because she lovingly made them for me and for the Lord's glory! I actually had the nerve to give her a little store bought pillow the other week. You see, Margarette broke her foot back in April and has been wearing a lovely boot ever since. The pillow I gave her has a qoute and a shoe stitched on it...it says "One shoe can change a life" - Cinderella. I think it has brought her much joy. But, God is the one who truly changes lives and He continues to change both hers and mine!

Vintage Couch Gets a New Friend

My vintage couch in my bedroom (purchased for $50 from my former boss) has a new pillow created especially for me by my dear friend Margarette Mills...it looks great and feels nice and expensive too ...especially since the fabric is $50 a yard! Margarette is working on more pillows for me all out of the goodness of her Big Heart...I got to spoil her some by taking care of her house and yard while she was out of town this past weekend. While doing so, I left some nice surprises for her including a painting to hang in her studio, trimming some shrubs, hanging a bird feeder, and some other little things. Giving is such a wonderful gift, and I had so much fun planning her little surprises! She sure is a special lady and I am glad God has been bringing us together in a wonderful friendship. I will post more pillows as they are complete. OK...I am now going to start cleaning up my studio so that I can start working in there again!
