Getting Ready

Sometimes a painting will "just happen" and there is nothing better than getting a great result from a spontaneous creative session. Getting ready for a show never "just happens" and that is where I am now. Artista Vista, the big celebrated art crawl in the Vista, opens a week from tomorrow night on April 22....it is the 19th annual Artista Vista. I will be showing at the Gallery at DuPre in the alley at 807 Gervais. So, I am finishing off the edges of the canvases (many artists skip this), adding hardware and getting the pieces wired for hanging, working on labels, and putting the clear coat on the surface. A lot of work goes into getting art ready for a show. So, as you enjoy Artista Vista this year, think about the work and passion that each artist puts into the gift that has been entrusted to him or her. Come out and see us, give us feedback, ask about our inspiration and methods, and most importantly, just support us! Purchases are great, but it is the support that keeps us -at least me - going! And remember, Artista Vista runs next Thursday night from 5:00-9:00 PM. Galleries will be open regular hours on Friday and Saturday! I am looking forward to seeing you there!
